- About Song Dreamer

Song Dreamer is a community of musicians who love to gather and play. Their music is mostly original, written by the song writers in the group. In the case of the 2008 CD, Song Dreamer, Ruth Finlay composed all music and lyrics. Since many of the songs she wrote came to her in dreams, authentically the group and CD was aptly titles Song Dreamer. During their concerts other writers in the group contribute their creations and there are always guest artists who add their creativity to the bands sound.
Mississauga Unity Church has been the gathering place and support family for Song Dreamer and many of their concerts have be performed there.
The music is deep, spiritual, intimate and eclectic with world music influences. It is released to the world with passion and joy.
Song Dreamer intends to move their music out into the market place and is open to play wherever there is an opportunity. Children are also attracted by this clean, energetic yet profound music and always add a wonderful presence at the concerts.

The funds raised will also establish a scholarship fund at The Davinport Festival of Music in Toronto in the Jazz and Blues section of the program. John was a brilliant Jazz, Blues, and Pop musician as well as an innovative teacher who enriched the lives of many.
